Arguineguín is situated on the south‑west coast of Gran Canaria, about 30 minutes from the Island's airport. More extensive shopping is offered by the nearby Puerto Rico and the capital Las Palmas, with larger shopping centres and designer stores.

Arguineguín is very high service by health facilities, with local clinics, dental surgeries, and pharmacies within the town. More specialized treatment is provided at the island's main hospitals—both public and private—in Las Palmas, about 40 minutes away.
